Air Pistol

Shot at a distance of 6yds (although, can be used over 25mtr for those looking for a "challenge"). The pistols are in .177 calibre and, are usually pre charged air or CO2 powered although, the old spring powered (recoilless) type are still to be found being shot. Under the requirements of the firearms legislation all types of air pistol must not exceed a muzzle energy of 6 ft/Ibs.

Although Dudley Rifle Club does not, at present, have a air pistol "section" provision could be made for such target shooting practice within the clubroom as opposed to the main rifle range.

Competitions for air pistol are organised available via postal leagues run by such organisations as the National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA) & the Hendon Rifle Club.
